Set in a quiet spot up a side street, the studios are only a short walk from the busy centre of the resort and the 3km of gently shelving sand that make up Laganas's gorgeous beach. The Sunflower makes a splendid choice for those wanting a relaxing holiday. You'll probably take advantage of lazy days by the pool, or have a stroll to the lovely beach. By night you'll be spoilt for choice with Laganas's countless bars and restaurants. Alternatively, you could hire a car or bike and visit the quieter, but equally lovely beach at the neighbouring resort of Kalamaki, or stroll over the wooden bridge to the scenic, pine-clad isle of Aghios Sostis where you'll reveal a cafe and nightclub.
Laganas gets bigger and livelier as each year passes. There's a long sandy bay plus a 1 mile strip of bars, clubs and restaurants at the last count. The long sands of Laganas reaches the neighbouring resorts of Lithakia to the West and Kalamaki at the eastern end of the beach. Set back from the beach lie pubs and eating places, so having a light lunch or an all day breakfast will not interrupt your tanning schedule. This fairly well encapsulates the pace of of a holiday in Laganas, lazy days on the beach, sundowners at a seafront bar before the night starts up at the Strip. The main action commences after the sun retires below the horizon. This is when the Laganas party lifestyle kicks off. Mainly young holidaymakers begin moving into the eateries, pubs and nightclubs in central Laganas en masse. The range of Laganas restaurants is amazingly varied, everything from fast food to Italian, Chinese, Indian and even a rare Greek Taverna. Popular Bars and clubs include Rescues club, Geezers Club, the classic Ghetto Club, Must Sports Bar and Bad Boys Cocktail Bar. The list of bars and nightclubs is virtually endless. You will be hard pushed to do a complete circuit on your holiday. Anybody thinking about booking a holiday in Laganas Zante will probably not be planning on a quiet night in with a book!.
The beach at Laganas is a major nursery location for protected rare Loggerhead turtles (Caretta-Caretta). The turtles swim ashore at night to bury their eggs in the beach. Watersports are mostly limited in Laganas Bay to maintain the environment for the turtles. Laganas bay has 3 islands the most striking of which is known as Marothonisi. There is a beautiful secluded beach and this is another important egg-laying habitat for the turtles. Strangely enough, Marathonesi is shaped like a turtle and is often referred to as Turtle Island. Marathonisi is uninhabited though it is possible to visit via boat trips which run from Laganas or altrnatively from Zante Town. Agios Sostis is a extremely tiny island accessible via a boardwalk. Agios Sostis features a small beach plus it is the setting for a nightclub. The other island is known as Pelouzo which can be seen on the north edge of the bay.
